Last Two Verses of Surah al Baqarah

Several ways exist for Muslims to strengthen their relationship with Allah SWT. Surah Baqarah's last two ayats are dedicated to Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W. Throughout these verses, Allah Almighty explains his attributes and commands his servants to believe in him and obey the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. These verses serve as protection against many problems and even against black magic.

The last two ayats of Surah Baqarah are translated as follows:

AYAT (2:285)

It is believed by the Messenger and by the believers that what has been revealed to him by his Lord is true. They all believe in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers, [saying], “We make no distinction between His messengers.” And they also say, “We hear and obey.” Our Lord, we seek Your forgiveness, and you are the [final] destination of us.”

AYAT (2:286)

Allāh does not burden a soul beyond its means. It will face the consequences of its deeds, whether good or bad. Our Lord, please do not hold us accountable for our forgetfulness or mistakes. And do not impose upon us a burden like the ones before us had to endure. Our Lord, do not give us challenges that are too hard for us to handle. Have mercy on us and forgive us; You are our protector, so grant us victory over the disbelievers. 286

The last two Ayat of Surah Baqarah have the following virtues and benefits:

The second and longest surah in the Qur’an, Al-Baqarah, orders believers to fast during Ramadan. It contains 286 verses, 6201 words, and 25,500 letters. The final two verses are particularly significant in the Qur’an. Each verse holds value and illustrates the importance of various teachings of the Prophet (peace be upon him). May this verse serve as inspiration for incorporating it into your daily life. According to Hazrat Ali (RA), it is inappropriate for people who understand Islam to sleep until the end of Ayat Al-Kursi and the end of Baqarah, since it is a gift to your Prophet (PBUH). (History of Ibn Mardawaih)

Protection at night:

According to Abu Masud's legendary hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that the duration of Baqarah keeps the reciter awake for one night.

It is commonly believed that reciting the last two Ayat of surah Baqarah before bedtime offers protection throughout the night. Despite this, there is disagreement among scholars about what exactly is meant by "enough for him" - whether it refers to sufficient Tahajjud, protection from the devil, or righteous deeds. Whichever interpretation one may choose, we are aware of the benefits and should make use of them. Instead of mindlessly scrolling through social media until you doze off and your phone slips out of your hand, prioritize seeking Allah's (swt) protection and fall asleep with recitation from Baqarah in mind.

Protection from black magic and harmful things:

In the tradition of Muhammad, sorcerers were a common target. However, he combated their influence by reciting verses from the Qur'an. These verses are believed to have a positive impact on one's well-being, protecting them from witchcraft and aiding in their journey towards becoming a better Muslim. The Qur'an contains specific verses (such as those found in Baqarah) and shorter ones that can be used for protection against Black Magic, Jinn, Witchcraft, Shirr, the Evil Eye and other harmful forces.

The main section of the Qur'an is the period of "Baqarah". "If it is recited at night, no devil will enter the house for three nights." (Tirmidhi, 2878).

Gifted in Shab-e-Meraj

According to hadiths, the last verses of the period of Baqarah were among the blessings given to the Prophet (PBUH) during the Night Journey (Shab-e-Meraj): "When Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.) was taken on a night journey. He said, "This is a golden night. I was given three things: five prayers, the last verses of Baqarah, and anyone among my imams who dies without connecting with God will be forgiven for Al-Muhimmat." (Sunan An-Nasa'i: 452).

Conclusion

The Surah Baqarah last two Ayats were bestowed on Mai'raj by Allah Almighty. These Ayas are beneficial in many ways. They protect the reciter from black magic. In order to protect the house against devils, the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad PBUH advised the Muslim Ummah to recite these ayahs. You will find the meanings and explanations of these ayahs in this article.

There are many benefits to reciting the longest Surah of the Quran, Baqarah. The first advantage is that it teaches us through historical stories. The second benefit is that it helps us to learn Islamic laws. Additionally, reciting certain verses has many other advantages. Thus, we should memorize verses such as Ayat al-Kursi and Surah al-Baqarah's last two verses, as well as recite Surah Baqarah and reflect on its meanings regularly. This is one way to gain Allah's eternal blessings.
